• Lyhyt kuvaus This 51-track 2-CD set comprises almost all of the singles released by the label in its 4-year lifespan, and is a treasure trove of collectable material for fans of the classic R & B, vocal group and early Rock ‘n’ Roll recordings which were an integral part of the musical and social revolution that captivated the baby boom generation. Although only one of the names included scored a major hit on the national charts (The Lovers – “Darling It’s Wonderful”), the label’s output was of a consistently high quality, and as with many small labels of the time, it was probably a failure of promotion and sales muscle to live up to the excellence of its artist roster that prevented these releases making a major chart impact. Many of the artists had success in other guises – the Cookies became Ray Charles’ backing group The Raelettes. The Cues were Atlantic’s house backing singers on hits by Ray Charles, Ruth Brown, LaVern Baker, Joe Turner and others.
