  • Lyhyt kuvaus On The Dancefloor With More Fingersnaps - 31 More Pops To Make The Party Shake! 1-CD (Digipak) with 36-page booklet, 31 tracks. Total playing time approx. 79 min. Follow-up album to our debut 'Fingersnap!' CD (BCD17718) in the 'On the Dancefloor' series on Bear Family Records®. The second installment delivers 31 more highlights of cool grooves and rhythmic hooks, often simple finger snaps. Two versions of Sixteen Tons (Tennessee Ernie Ford's original and the Platters' version), numbers by Elvis, Gene Vincent and Jo-Ann Campbell from the R'n'R era, original R&B by Chuck Willis, Wynonie Harris, Ike Turner, Dinah Washington and Ruth Brown, among others. There are also a number of more obscure recordings by Eddie Banks, Bill Carter, Merle Kilgore and Barbara McNair and finally Help Me by Sonny Boy Williamson II. Extensive and entertainingly written liner notes along with many photos and discographical details in the 36-page booklet as well as carefully processed recordings for good sound quality round off this wonderfully relaxed album. Sharpen up your fingers and let’s take a headlong dive into this irresistible follow-up to Bear Family’s ‘On The Dancefloor‘ compilation, containing another 31 highly infectious items where the groove is cool and the percussion is often supplied by the snapping of fingers. Tennessee Ernie Ford’s Sixteen Tons, likely the best-known entry of all in this sub-genre, is aboard this time (The Platters‘ version is here too), along with cool gems by Elvis, Gene Vincent, Fabian, Bobby Darin, and Jo Ann Campbell. The R&B contingent is represented by hip numbers from Chuck Willis, Wynonie Harris, Ike Turner, Donnie Elbert, Dinah Washington, and two seductive themes by Ruth Brown. And there are plenty of obscurities to savor, including Eddie Banks‘ Sugar Diabetes, Bill Carter’s Jailer Man, Merle Kilgore’s Start All Over Again, and the gorgeous Barbara McNair’s He’s A King. Harmonica ace Sonny Boy Williamson (the second one) turns up at the end with his immortal Help Me, which became an instant blues standard. Prepare to snap along throughout this collection - hand cramps aren’t an option!
