Gene Vincent And The Blue Caps From 1956-1963 Gene Vincent released on Capitol Records 7 LPs. Those albums contained superb recordings initially performed with The Blue Caps and then with some of the best session musicians from the United States. The concept, the covers and the songs of those LPs have got that special kind of magic that Capitol Records used to impose in its jobs at a time when the 7"" single was still the most popular format.Gene Vincent LPs on Capitol were not a mere collection of singles or well-known songs, as happened with many other artists. Mate, these albums are cool! But they were far away to collect all of the Gene Vincent recordings for Capitol. Some of Gene’s best songs were released only in single, EP or even remained in the can for decades, until they were released gradually collected on LPs or box sets. All songs featured in this box set were recorded by Gene and his Blue Caps between 1956 and 1958 and none of them appeared in any official LP. Amongst them you'll find classics such as Be-Bop A Lula or Lotta Lovin but also less known rockers as Bickey Bi Bi Bo Bo Go or I Got It, and even tender proposals as Walkin' Home From School or Important Words.
