• Lyhyt kuvaus Moon Mullican signed with the Spar label in early 1966 and recorded the two LPs that make up this collection and are seeing their first digital release and their only reissue in the forty plus years since the records were first released. Both of these albums feature re-recordings of Mullican’s “Columbus Stockade Blues”, “I’ll Sail My Ship Alone” (covered twice by Jerry Lee Lewis), “You Don’t Have To Be A Baby To Cry”, “Old Pipeliner” and standards like “Sweet Georgia Brown”, but many of the songs are new material like “Mr. Honky Tonk Man”. “Man In The Moon” and the seriously rockin’ “I’m On My Way Home” Aubrey “Moon” Mullican was born on the Texas-Louisiana border in 1909. A new form of music was taking shape in Texas in the 1930s that came to be known as “Western Swing and when fiddle player Cliff Bruner started his own group Moon landed the gig as vocalist, pianist and song-writer.
